magic mocha coffee

Updated: Oct 15, 2020

Coffee has always been my greatest love.

Surprisingly, it is not for the caffeine but simply for the taste.

*Don't forget about the fact cozy coffee shops are my second home (shoutout enews).

My biggest struggle lies in drinking my coffee black or ordering an artificial sugar filled almond milk mocha latte. Some days black coffee is great but some days you want a little more without the added syrups and unhealthy powders...

For those days (or everyday), behold my magic mocha recipe!!

This recipe started with just cacao and honey, then after some everyday tweaks ended with this recipe.

Every day I change it up a little bit depending on my mood - upping the cacao on my more chocolatey days, the maca on my more nutty days, etc.

Why not satisfy your mocha cravings everyday while also boosting the already amazing benefits of coffee?

cocao: delivers an abundance of antioxidants and nutrients that positively impact brain and cardiovascular health

maca: builds resilience and balances the body's delicate endocrine system, supporting natural energy and vitality—without the undesirable effects of stimulants

honey: delivers an abundance of antioxidants and provides an easily absorbed supply of energy in the form of liver glycogen, making it ideal for energetic morning starts and as a pre- and post-exercise energy source

cinnamon: delivers great source of antioxidants, fiber, manganese, and calcium, increases neurotrophic factors, which keep existing neurons in your brain alive and encourage new ones to grow

1 cup of coffee

1 tablespoon of cocao powder

1 teaspoon of maca powder

1 tablespoon of local honey*

dash of cinnamon

*local honey contains a blend of local pollen which can better strengthen your immune system and reduce your pollen allergies!!

My morning routine includes throwing this recipe into a jar while running out the door. Adding the drip (darkest roast is my preference) at my local coffee shop! Then shaking it as I run to my next destination!
