
It's fig season and my heart is bursting with joy. Figs are the perfect snack, as they are sweet and delicious but also packed with antioxidants, potassium and fiber.
They also make for the perfect topping! So here is my favorite fig + honey oatmeal recipe!

Oatmeal
1 cup rolled oats
2 cups water
1 tablespoon hemp hearts
1 tablespoon chia seeds
cinnamon
Toppings
2 figs
1 tablespoon pepitas (pumpkin seeds)
1 tablespoon local honey
cinnamon

First bring water to boil. Then add oatmeal and leave on medium heat. After 1 minute add hemp hearts, chia seeds and some cinnamon. Cook about 10 minutes.
While oatmeal is cooking, slice your figs.
After oats are cooked, transfer into your favorite breakfast bowl. Add sliced figs and pepitas then drizzle with honey and a dash of cinnamon.
